       *The Extech Model EMF510 is an inexpensive digital gauss meter for locating sources of 30 to 300 Hz magnetic fields.

  • Keithley Instruments, (now part of Tektronix) Their model 6485 which has 0.01 pA resolution and built-in serial/GPIB interfaces is recommended for lithography (the older model 485 picoammeter with 0.1 pA resolution was recommended for lithography in the past). A serial interface program can be supplied at no charge with NPGS which can be used with the Keithley 6485 picoammeter.  Consequently, the cost of a GPIB board or adapter can be avoided when using the 6485 with NPGS.
  • RBD Instruments, Their 9103 picoammeter is a USB device with 0.1 pA resolution and a 90v bias option, support for use with NPGS will be provided when requested

X-Ray Analysis (EDS/WDS) Companies (go to Top) (X-Ray systems are not needed for lithography, however, they are often used on the same microscopes as NPGS. In this case, a special input adapter is typically needed to allow the x-ray system and NPGS to share the XY input to the microscope.)

Digital Imaging Systems for SEMs (go to Top)  (NPGS includes a digital imaging capability which is available at no charge.)

Nano Manipulator Systems (go to Top) (These are not directly related to lithography, however, they could be useful for testing devices made by e-beam lithography.)

Dedicated E-Beam Writing Systems (go to Top) (These systems can cost several million US dollars and are primarily used in industry. Obviously, they will provide capabilities that exceed what is possible using an SEM based lithography system, however, for research work, an SEM based system is often preferred based both on price and on performance.)

       * These are trade magazines which are free to qualified subscribers. Graduate and undergraduate students interested in industrial applications may find them useful sources of information. They also publish "Buyer's Guides," however, these are becoming obsolete since they continue to charge increasing amounts for companies to be included, thus reducing the number of companies listed. Free search engines are recommended, since they will include a wider range of companies and products.
