NPGS: Dartmouth Seal

Picture Menu  |  Main Menu

This image shows the Dartmouth College Seal.  The scale marker at the bottom is 10 microns.

The image shows a lifted off metalization layer of 35 nm Au on 5 nm Cr on top of a SiO2 substrate. The line widths are about 80 nm. The pattern was created by converting a bitmap to the vector format used by NPGS. Interestingly, the pattern was designed and written only once, and yet, the results are quite impressive.

This work was done by Dr. C. Berven while a postdoc with Dr. Martin Wybourne at Dartmouth College. (The image was acquired with the NPGS Digital Imaging feature on an otherwise analog SEM.)
